Questions, answered.
Costs, lead times, sourcing, sizing, returns. Plain answers. If something here is wrong or missing, Luxe Gems wants to hear about it.
Making the piece
How long does it take?
In-stock pieces ship within two business days. Made-to-order pieces (most rings) ship in 10 to 21 days. Custom commissions are 4 to 8 weeks from the approved sketch. Lead time is listed on every product page.
Who actually makes it?
Every piece is produced by Luxe Gems's US-based production partners to our quality standards. No drop-shipping, no overseas casting house. Final inspection and packaging are handled in-house before every shipment.
Can I see progress on my piece?
Yes, for custom pieces. Book a virtual consultation and a specialist will walk you through each stage by video.
Stones
Natural or lab-grown?
Both. We sell the right stone for the budget and the taste. Read our plain take if you are deciding.
Are the diamonds certified?
Every diamond over 0.50ct ships with a GIA or IGI certificate. Smaller side stones are graded in-house to the same standard.
Russian origin?
We do not knowingly source Russian-origin stones. Every natural diamond ships Kimberley-Process compliant. If an inventoried stone is Russian-origin it is flagged in our system and pulled from public listings.
Warranty and service
What is covered?
Lifetime warranty on craftsmanship defects. First resize within one year: free (eternity bands excluded). Normal wear polishing and rhodium re-plating quoted at cost.
What about loss or theft?
Not covered by our warranty. We recommend Jewelers Mutual insurance for valuable pieces. We can provide an appraisal for policy paperwork.
Shipping and returns
Do you ship internationally?
Canada, UK, EU, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. Buyer pays duties and import VAT. Blocked countries list follows OFAC sanctions.
What is your return policy?
30 days on in-stock pieces. Made-to-order pieces are case-by-case. EU orders have the 14-day statutory right of withdrawal. Full details.
How is the piece packaged?
Signed card, linen pouch, walnut box. Double-boxed for transit. Direct-signature delivery only, no porch drops. Insured at full replacement value.
Sizing and engraving
I do not know my size. Can you help?
Yes. Use our ring sizing guide or request a complimentary printable sizer. For partner rings ordered as a surprise, we can size quietly from any ring they already wear.
What about resizing later?
First resize within 12 months is free on ordinary bands. Eternity bands, channel-set pieces, and full-pave rings cannot be resized structurally. They are remade. Price depends on the setting.
Can I have it engraved?
Interior engraving on any ring, +$120. Up to 20 characters, engraved in-house. No laser. Submit the text at checkout. Block letters, italic script, or a date in numerals.
Insurance and appraisals
Do I need to insure my piece?
Yes. Homeowner policies cap jewelry well below replacement. We recommend Jewelers Mutual. Most customers end up around 1 to 2 percent of insured value annually.
Do you provide an appraisal?
Every piece over $2,000 ships with a signed appraisal at retail replacement value. Appraisal paperwork is what your insurer will want. If you need a GIA-listed independent appraisal, we can refer you to a vetted independent appraiser.
Working with us
Can I bring my own stone to set?
Yes. We also source third-party GIA or IGI certified stones, buy them sight-unseen from trusted dealers, and set them per your spec. Bring a stone you already own, same timeline, same fee structure. We check the cert and quote the setting separately.
Is a rush option possible?
Custom pieces typically take four to eight weeks. Rush is case-by-case. If we can fit yours into two or three weeks, we will, for an additional fee that depends on production capacity and whether we need to source the stone. Always worth asking.
I am not sure about lab versus natural. How do I decide?
Book a 30-minute call. We walk through where each sits on price, resale, ethics, and appearance. No pressure, no upsell. Ten percent of clients switch direction after that call.
Paying and customs
Can I pay over time?
Affirm at checkout for US orders, 3 to 24 months, subject to approval. Bank wire or ACH if you prefer. Wire transfer on orders over $10,000 earns a 2 percent discount to offset card fees.
Who pays international duties?
The buyer, at delivery. We ship DDU (Delivered Duties Unpaid). Duties and import VAT vary by country. Your courier collects them before final delivery. UK and EU customers should budget 20 to 22 percent on top of the piece price.
