Quick reference
Pick by intent, not by trend.
| Width | Category | Compare to | When it works |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.5 mm | Minimalist | About the thickness of a credit card edge | Disappears between other stackers. Easy on slim fingers. |
| 2 mm | Minimalist | About the width of a strand of spaghetti | Common for thin pavé bands and dainty solitaires. |
| 2.5 mm | Slim | About the width of a pencil lead | A small step up from 2 mm; reads as deliberate, not flashy. |
| 3 mm | Slim | About the width of a paper clip wire | Versatile. Pairs with most solitaires without crowding. |
| 4 mm | Classic | About the width of a stick of regular gum on edge | The default men's band width and a substantial women's band. |
| 5 mm | Substantial | About the width of a flat stick of chewing gum | Reads heavier; common for engraved bands and signet pairings. |
| 6 mm | Bold | About the width of a #2 pencil | Strong presence. Comfort-fit profile recommended. |
| 8 mm | Bold | About the width of a US dime | Signet territory. Often paired with broader fingers. |
Comfort-fit (rounded interior) reads roughly one millimetre slimmer on the finger than the spec width. We default to comfort-fit on anything 4 mm and wider.
